Hi There
Does anyone know what sensors triggers the traction control? And where are they on the vehicle
Thanks

Hi Craig,
Usually the ABS sensors. The system works in "reverse".....in stead of measuring lock-up.it measures slip and apply brakes to the relevant spinning wheel.

D3 Traction control
Ok but is it possible to de-activate the traction control? By de-activating the DSC does not de-activate the TC as I found out driving some serious dunes over the long long weekend.
If a D4D Hilux can crest it surely the D3 has enough power and torque to do the same? So my only thought is the traction control kicking in.......that is what it felt like........the D3 just bogg's down in the thick sand.current: Disco 3 TDV6 SE, fitted: 265/65/17 BFG, NL Dual Battery, Onboard compressor, frontrunner towbar.

They are not brilliant in the sand. Great fun to dig out though

I'm sure if you disconnect an abs sensor it will stop it working as a short term fix
That's what we used to do on the race circuit

No - the opposite - the whole thing will come to a grinding halt - suspension will lower, the dash lights up like a christmas tree and if you are really luck the engine goes to limp mode!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I disconnected an ABS sensor by mistake when changing my brakes and I didn't clip it together properly again. When I started the engine afterwards, I couldn't select any special functions, couldn't raise the air suspension, couldn't select low range, apply the EPB and so on. 2014 D4 XS
