anyone know what this is/

When i clean the car i saw a ( i think ) sensor by the left back wheel.
Does anyone know how to fit it and what it is?
The pictures are in my gallery, i do not know how to put them in the message.

Thanks!

Thanks for putting the picture on!
It is a plastic part with copper in the middle.
The electric wire is supported on the rubber from the brake breather.
Can someone look underneath his D3 to see where it is attached on?

Thanks a million!

brake pad sensor

Hi
It should be located into one of the pads in the caliper if its lying like that it has either snapped off or someone hasnt replaced it have you recently had pads replaced.
If it has broken off you will need a new one they dont cost much
cheers

Tis the break wear sensor it should clip in to the break pad there is a cut out for it you may not be able to clip it back in if they damaged it when they took it out
Ps I have nt put one in without taking the wheel off but it might be possible Thumbs Up
Don’t worry it is supposed to sound like that...honest

If it has no brass insert, then you need to get a new one. Pics in my Brake Bible.
Either they didn't put it back on or they lost the brass insert which holds it in place. Thumbs Up

if you are unsure just look at the front left caliper which also has a sensor.
