The caravan dealer has fixed the problem (at no cost to us) but have advised that we should not tow until we get the suspension issue on the car sorted. They telephoned Swift and the first thing they asked was whether the van was being towed by a Landrover.
The landrover dealer (reputable dealer who gets good reviews on this site) said they haven't heard of this problem and that their sales manager tows a caravan and has not experienced or heard of this.
All very odd. Bat and ball game continues!

I think they are pulling your plonker if I'm being honest. Like Duncan, I've raised and lowered many a time with our twin axle with no issues... so have others over the last 6 years. For this not to have been raise before is odd at the least.

Thanks for all your replies.
I am starting to agree that the caravan dealer is full of Why would they fix the problem if they thought that the car's suspension was at fault? The caravan dealer has refitted the screws to the bulk head (the bit where the gas bottles are stored at the front of the van and the floor of the caravan is).
I feel a battle commencing and will let you know what the outcome is. The caravan dealer and Landrover dealer are on the same road so we could get them together to sort it out between them!
Otherwise I'm stuck with a £12k van that I can't use until this gets resolved.

Unless you left it hooked up with the corner steadies and/or jockey wheel down? This is a definite no no with any car with air suspension. If the car decides to lower itself by just a fraction, it could end up with the weight of the D3 hanging off the tow hitch.

Good one Frapp!
We have a Sprite Major 6, but the bulkhead looks the same as Swift/Sprite are part of the same group.

According to the caravan dealer you could see daylight through the bulkhead where the screws have come loose and we nearly, apparently, lost the caravan floor, because the screws had come loose due to the car suspension?!
Off to Landrover dealer tomorrow to do diagnostics test, then off the caravan dealer with results to hopefully show they are talking
Failing that, we're stuck between the 2 dealers, a caravan we're told we shouldn't tow, and 3 whinging kids (plus the Mrs) cos we can't go on holiday.
