A few issues for a Newbie please
Hi All,
I have a 2005 HSE D3.
I would like to add the following to it -
1. A roof mounted DVD system
2. A reversing camera that shows the image on the factory fitted sat nav screen automatically when I select reverse.I have found a camera that replaces one of the number plate lights but that's as far as I get.
3. Enable the 4 x 4 info and off road navigation on the Sat Nav screen.
4. An ipod dock that charges my ipod and allows me to control it via the steering wheel controls.
5. I would like to change the rear lights to D4 ones and then read that I need to fit a resistor - hmmm not that confident with vehicle electrics.
I have read some threads that say that site sponsors undertake this type of work. I would be happy to support sponsors but don't know how to contact them - additionally are any of them mobile so I can have this or some of this work done at home.
Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Welcome to D3, I see you live in Moody Blues land!
Anyway, for the DVD player, the Rosen A9 is the factory, so therefore will be easiest to make factory. But, you will need to cut into to the headliner, and it might block your view, I had a factory DVD player in another vehicle (05 Durango), and it was more of a pain to have it, than to not, especially with iPods, etc. But that's just my read, and I was relieved when I found my LR3 without it.
For the enabling of the other things, Wiggs, or TFC I think are the main ones, and one of them I think is mobile, but I can't remember which, sorry.
As for the iPod, I'd check the LR catalog for something.

For the D4 lights, adding a resistor shouldn't be all to hard, but yeah I don't blame you not wanting to get into an LR electrical system.
For the backup camera, no D3/LR3 that I know of would support one in the NAV screen, as it wasn't factory. You could try a D4/LR4 system, but I'm not sure about that either. Let us know what you decide to do with that one.
That aside, how about some pics and specs (interior color, etc) of the new ride? 17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

Questions, questions!!! Looking at them one at a time ...
1 - Land Rover used to sell such a kit - it wasn't cheap, but sometimes crops up on E-bay
3 - Seeing as yours is an HSE, I'm surprised this isn't already enabled. Forum users (and site sponsors) 'Wiggs' and 'bellautos' can sort it out for a small fee
4 - Again, Land Rover used to sell such a kit; keep a sharp eye of the Bay of E and the For Sale Forum here
5 - Resistors like these are what you need - simple connect them across the indicator supply to the new rear lamps. Again, 'bellautos' sometimes has some available with the resistors already fitted.
This and other information is freely available on this site - the Search function is invaluable on such 'quests' ...Regards,
Mick

Hi mate,
There are photos in my gallery of when I fitted my resistors for my D4 rear lights, happy to send you more info when you come to do it. I was the same but with the help on here it was quite easy and only took about an hour to fit both lights! 2016 RR Sport Autobiography
