Front Side Lights come on when braking

Just had a new fault today, everytime I brake the front side lights come on. Has anybody had this issue or heard of this issue before?

Put my foot on the brake when parked in the driveway, and saw the front lights come on in the garage door reflection.

you've got the wrong lamp in one of the rear brake / tail lights Wink

If it's the wrong lamp in the back, how come it's only just started today, I haven't changed any bulbs, and have checked the back lights and all are ok.

well you never said it only just started.... maybe you only just noticed? could be water ingress to the towbar socket, knackered lampholder or even a bad CJB, when you say you've checked the rear lights, do the stop tail lamps definitely have dual filament lamps in them?
I've seen this plenty of times on other vehicles and (bar mkIII escorts with corroded lamp cluster connectors) it has always been due to a single filament lamp being fitted instead ofa dual filament one

It's definately only just started this morning, it was obvious as it's dark in the mornings and the reflection is fairly bright, caught me by surprise, as the lights are not auto, and just came on. The bulbs are definately dual filament, they are the originals still, and the car is 18 months old. Could be water ingress as you said, I do have the tow sockets fitted. Hopefully dealer might shed some light on it tomorrow.
