Comparing the two disks (old and new) side-by-side (and I dont mean look at it - yeah you were thinking it ), the only software difference seems to be a cunning little file called 'Loading'.
Just a thought... maybe this file is the firmware update? If it is, a disk without it might run as old with the 1791 hack? Simple edit process and re-burn?
Or, another thought... strip the map data files and associated files from the new disk and overwrite the same files on the old disk - see what happens?
NB. DO this at your own risk - I have no clue... no really, I have absolutely no worthwhile techical expertise to support these ideas at all. In fact I'm have the cranial capacity of an amoeba. D3 HSE V8...

That good???
It must be all those petrol fumes you enjoy on your frequent visits to your local BP shop.
Jealous?
Absolutely!

Lesson number 1 - Don't buy discs from eBay!
Just inserted the disc and the sytem went through the set-up proceedure.
Then after loading the map data looked good - I live on a new road that wsn't on the old disc - then "Map Read Error" and a grey screen.
I inserted the old disc which runs OK but I've lost my voice activation!

Let me know if the voice activation works please. If it does, I may try a new disc.

How much if you want to just get the new disc from a Land Rover dealer? Sorry if someone has said the price before.

They won't sell it until the old stock is sold.

Another correction - I've been complaining about my Sat Nav since I bought the car, so my local dealer is going to let me have one for £100.73 + VAT.
Will be in Tuesday.

Suzy (my name for sat nav voice) responds to voice commands as before.
Not selling the new DVDs til the old ones are sold out is like not selling todays paper as they still have a few copies of yestedays. Moronic!

ok help a confused lady out here.
If I buy the up to date disk from a LR dealer.
What benefit will there be.
Is this just a new map disk
or does it also upgrade the LR Nav software.
