Does anybody else suffer from a delay in the power kicking in when you press the accelerator? I can count to 3 secs
I have a MY2006 TDV6 Auto, which has had all the enhancements going, in fact after calling LR Customer Service at the request of my dealer, LRCS told me- That's all folks! Well for now anyway. When I asked them when I could expect the next enhancment addressing this problem, they couldn't/wouldn't tell me. Although they did seem to indicate they are aware of the problem. When I pushed them a bit on this matter the woman I was speaking to seemed to get irritated and became uninterested.
Should I just accept the situation and wait putting it down to the fact that TADTS or should I kick up a fuss? Do LR have roaming technical reps that visit the dealers?
Any ideas or help apperciated.

What has your dealer said after test driving your D3 ?
If they see no issue (and it is under warranty still) try another dealer for their opinion.
It may well be an issue with the software / enhancement not taking correctly. There have been reports of the software side of the the enhancement program having to be done a second time to cure the turbo lag.
Of course you may have a hardware problem. Without a second or third opinion you'll find it hard to progress this through LRCS.

The last time they had it, a week ago they kept it for two days by prior arrangement and it still has the delay.
Their was talk about the fly by wire throttle something or other being replaced. Not acyually sure if that happened- will ring them tomorrow to check.
The dealer is not denying that the problem exists by the way.

forget the software, get the dealer to look at the hardware - specifically the turbo and the plumbing to the fuel filter. DTC's won't tell the whole story
ask them to get the LR regional technical rep. involved

Get a second opinion if they don't see the problem... and there has been issues with software not taking correctly.

Okay, technical rep time.
I'll get them to check the hardware bits prior to the technical rep appearing.
Many thanks
PS- what are DTC's?

In certain situations (hard to recreate), mine is similar, as are others I've seen and driven. Have just got used to it. Was far worse prior to enhancement. Before enhancement if I was gradually decellerating at say 20 - 30MPH, and then floored it, it'd take around 3 seconds to react, though it would react with a big surge of power. This is still the type of situation where I see the worst lag.
Caught me out first time driving a D3 - got a toot of someones horn while pulling (more like crawling - which was not what I planned) into a busy roundabout!!! Even TC'd D3s still have it, though to a lesser extent. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

I've had a few waves from people as well
Trouble is, as it's my wifes car I don't drive it all the time and when I do a sometimes forget and end up in no mans land with my right foot dancing from brake to accelerator trying to avoid/get out of the way of the on- coming traffic.
Very unnerving. Not to mention bad for the seats

DTC = Diagnostic trouble codes - the bits that are stored in the various microprocessors memory to tell the spanner monkeys highly trained technicians where to look for the fault - only accessible with WDS / IDS though

This was one of the biggest criticism I had of my D3 when I first got it
in previous posts I even mentioned that I found it dangerous at times
being in the wrong place at the wrong time. with no power
I got the TC (and other mods)to try and over come the problem and it did help with the lag.the time to power is now better and when the power comes in , its not strong its violent
I guess you just alter your driving style and timing (say at roundabouts) to over come the situation.
But considering its a V6 , a diesel and it weighs nearly 3 tons .. its not that bad of a motor.

Mine did the same along with crap fuel economy and poor cold starts, post enhancement. To the dealer....... corrupted software file and they reinstlled the software upgrade. It had taken earlier but lost it's grip as the hard supension disapeared and reappeared after they re-installed. Ask thenm to reintall the lot again and see. Occasional lag now but not nearly as bad as before, like yours it could be a long time before anything happened. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Mine does this too. Maybe not 3 seconds, but it sure looks like more than that when you need to clear a crossroad...
