My understanding is that the P11D valuation is only taken on factory fitted options, or any accessories that would increase the resale value of the car. The examples given by HM Inladn Revenue are audio/entertainment systems, leather upholstery.
no mention of winches!
As far as I know Land Rover Finance Freedom agreements (PCP) do not penalise for the fitment of genuine Land Rover Accessories (why would they?) the accessories are actually taken into account when setting up the agreement. The downside is that you would have to fit a new front bumper if you took the winch off at the end of the agreement - or buy another winch for your next D3.
Ask your dealer to check with LRFS for the exact wording as to their returns policy. Contract Hire is a completely different minefield, due to the car having to be returned to the finance house concerned, and then onto the auctions. You never own the car, hence not being able to do as you like to it.

LR Dealer....
I would be looking for a TDV6 HSE nearly new...... (maximum 18monthes old, with maximum 15k miles)
I havn't been told my exact budget as yet as the accounts chap has yet to work it out....
Any idea what age / price a D3 would be to this spec?
Out of curiousity, what dealership are you from? I might swing some business your way as im looking for a D3.
Many Thanks

Read the replies v-carefully, if you fit anything after the agreement has been set up then as said before penalties can apply, Yes you can add them to your agreement however most accessories (not options) are written to zero I do this every day (for my sins) so you will pay for them in full be duty bound to return the car with the bits on but for no RV gain. All this said if you are fitting winch etc you would be better selling privately to an enthusiast group (like us) as the benefits are known most (not all) dealers want standard stock which is easier to shift.

Correct me if i'm wrong but if your a shareholder in the company can't you just be paid a large dividend (tax free) which would enable you to purchase a D3?

appoligies martin, i didnt realise.
disco rs.... im not yet a shareholder in the company... that joyous day will come when the MD (my old man!) retires.... which could be 1 or 2 years away yet...
but your right, when i am a shareholder that would be by far the easiest way to purchase a car without getting stung by the tax man.

Are they still NI free? I've been out of business quite a while so things might have changed.

How can you expect any newbie to read that before asking questions Martin?
If 'you-know-who' was perhaps known as 'LRD' then nobody turning up new to the site would even think to ask such questions in the first place.
I know, I know, it's been done (badly) on another thread.
