If i had some hydraulic ramps so i could stand underneath it i would give it a go, but i dont fancy lying on the floor trying to do it.... it would be off the road for weeks (even years ) if I tried to do it.Duncan

Would be handy if someone had an old diff so we could strip it and get the bearings matched up so we would have part numbers,so if someone wanted to do it themselves, could order bearings first. Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

I've got an old diff you can play with ???? 05 Bonati Grey TDV6 SE, triple Rhino roof racks, rooftop tent, Traxside USI-160 system, triple batteries with duel yellow tops, GME UHF. Mitchell Bros tow hitch, LED internal lights, 265/70/17 maxis bighorns, steel rims, Llams, Maxtrax, Engel and Bushman fridges, Hema navigator, Engine remap. Towing 12ft O/R Regal Desert Series.
Putting new bearings in a worn diff is a bit of a hit & miss affair, where the teeth mesh in the crown wheel & pinion gets worn too and if its not put back in the exact same place & alignment it can still whine.

Spot on there Flack,that's why it needs to be done at the first sign of trouble,agree with setting it back up takes a bit of time and some engineers blue, but that's all part of the fun of doing it yourself Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

jacked up onto Axle stands is all.
Special tools....... deep hub nut socket depending on the position of the nut & what your sockets are like.
Pry Bars to get the inner CV's out of the diff.
Some bungees to stop the wishbones dropping down too far (in fact I used another smaller axle stand ISTR)
Torx SOCKET for the driveshaft flange (I've got some you could borrow depending on when your doing it)
Jack to help lower the diff & raise the new diff back in place.
Make sure you get the oil seal for the drivers side driveshaft tube as well. The diff only comes with the passenger side oil seal.
I used new patchlok bolts & washers for the driveshaft flange, but your call really. Bodsys Brake Bible
