Vestatec ones as per picture on D3 |
|
Hi All
Update on the vestatec units they have 38 units left but about 35 are to be sold I have negotiated a fully inclusive price delivered to you for £255 and they take rougly 1.5 to 2 hours to fit so if any one wants a set let me know, the only thing you need to know is they are end of line as Vestatec will be discontinuing them when they are all sold
I will of course donate something to the site
cheers

If LR are to comply with the regulations, will the DRL's be in addition to the LED signature lights or one and the same thing? In the spec for the MY12, they are currently listed as an optional extra for XS and below but require the purchase of Xenons. The halogen headlights only had LED dummies fitted up to MY 10 has that changed?

My Halogen headlights on the Landmark have the LED's signatures working as standard?
I thought that DRL's are quite different things to the LED signature lights? ie they have a purpose!

Correct - only "new" vehicles type-approved after this date need to have DRLs fitted (which in the case of the D4 would be the dipped headlamps, and not the LED signature lights/side lights).
The D4 was homologated back in 2009 IIRC so not even close to needing them.
So even if you buy a 2012 D4, unless there have been significant changes that require new type-approval certification (unlikely) then you won't have DRLs enabled unless required for a specific market and/or local laws (which isn't the case in the UK and the majority of european countries).
Bill - remember that the LEDs fitted to the D4 headlamps are simply side-lights and nothing to do with a DRL system in any way. (blame Audi for setting the trend using very bright LEDs as proper DRLs and then LR for using low-powered ones as fancy side-lights and confusing the hell out of their entire customer base).
crews control - I'm pretty sure that (due to the above confusion and complaints), LEDs were fitted to the halogen headlamps (instead of sidelight bulbs) for MY11 and onwards. As you say, nothing at all to do with DRLs, but definitely something they should have done from the launch of the D4. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
