Detachable tow bar

Mine seems to work a bit loose after a few hundred miles Shocked no matter how tight i get it to star with has anyone else noticed this.

It needs a bit of slack else you'd never get it off - a true interference fit with no play at all would make it a non-detachable Whistle

I hate to show off but when mine's locked in, there's absolutely no movement at all. And it falls out easily when unlocked.

Thats how mine starts off but after a while there is a bit of movement .

Perhaps because it's a wedge shape, once locked in if it can slide downwards ever so slightly, then it would be able to rock backwards/forwards.

Mines solid when it's fitted. However I was looking at a RRS with my father in law at the weekend and the tow bar on that was really sloppy and loose.

There's lots of threads on here about loose tow bar and some people with experiences of loosing their trailer due to them falling out. I must admit I make a habit of checking mine before moving the tin tent.
 Disco 3 TDV6 SE, black, de-badged, blacked out windows, cream leather interior, never seen a dirt track in its life.

seems a bit of a dodgy idea having a towbar that would fail big time if it fell downwards, but at least it gives me a better peace of mind that my previous car where the detachable towbar went in horizontally, then dropped downwards a few mm.

It relied on two pins at the side... all the lateral pulling force of the trailer being towed was on these pins.
