Faultmate to update ICE Firmware

Has anyone tried using the Faultmate to update the firmware on the ICE subsystems in the past? I just looked and saw that the MY2012 Owner's Manuals have been posted to Topix and the ICE interface has been totally redesigned but appears to be using the same hardware (except "Info" button is now "Setup" Yawn). I have a couple of issues with the existing firmware so I'm hoping the new redesign fixes a few of the "bugs" I've encountered. Also, how can we get ahold of these firmware updates?

Too bad they don't do it like my 2005 Touareg... That was a $50 CD that I dropped in the Nav system drive which sat there for ~45 minutes and then voila it was running the next model year's software load!

Thanks!
Andrew
