Chameau Chasseur - excellent. Always wore Argyll in black, then experienced comfort and warmth of Chameau.

I have a pair of tay sport, very good cleated sole for mud, very very warm good to -40 according to bumf, tried to get some last year took me till feb to get some, but the sole is crap on ice, you need some yak trax or other ice gripper. but so far this year 10/10 for warmth and wearability.
were they worth £70 yup every penny

Have had the the bamboo version of these for a while - very happy with them but they are getting a bit worn. Went shopping for a standby pair a couple of months ago and found a pair of Aigle Prestige - top of the range stuff - very nice with leather lining & full zips. A quick check showed prices were all over - some wanting £300ish but snapped up mine for around £100 in a summer sale.
Currently the Hunters Balmoral Bamboo are only £69 on Amazon - which is a some bargain - almost tempted to get another set in reserve

Having had three pairs of Chameau in the last three years replaced under warranty, and my husbands Hunters also replaced under the same £195 doesn't always buy you brilliant wellies! (Lots of dog walking).
Interested to hear on the muck boots for the future... *now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68

I needed a new pair as have been leaving mine out in the porch for a couple of years and had perrished. they were cheap ones from Country Wide
Took advice from my boy who wears them almost every day.
He recommended the Chameau - it has some sort of special sole that allows long periods of walking.
Got some the other weekend, nice neoprene lining and comfy and warm, at £150 a bit steep but to be honest if you look around that is now bad for a "proper pair" of wellies. D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR

Hunter Balmoral Neoprene - probably the best boots i've owned, they really suit my foot shape, but as with all boots try before you buy.
Keep your eyes open with John Norris of Penrith as they sell off Hunter "Seconds", i've bought these at a fraction of the normal price and have never been able to tell why they are classed as seconds.

Anyone tried the Grubs Stalkers?
Look similar to Muck Boots Tay but with a proper Vibram sole!

Finally got round to picking the Grubs Stalkers up today, very impressive I must say.
Although the ones I ordered were too small, but thankfully the shop had a pair of size 12s in stock, so no problem. I'd read that they were sized on the large side but that's not what I found today.
So my advice is try before you buy
