Clunk clunk clunk clunk NOT SORTED.
Hi all, noticed this yesterday first when on a lock under load it then disappeared till same again later in the day, today I've noticed it seems to happen under hard take off acceleration in 1st and 2nd in a straight line, My first thoughts are cv joint or maybe drive shaft, have any of you had same and was it that or worse ie box problem, it's a manual btw.
Cheers

Is it a regular click - click - click metallic sort of noise only on full lock one side, or a graunching more irregular sort of noise.
If the first, I'd say most likely a CV joint,
If the latter, it could just be the steering lock stops need a bit of grease on them. Clive

Clunk is Sorted,
turned out to be wheel bearing, only just did drivers side 2 weeks ago checked the nearside then and it was fine
when i changed it today there was about 3/4 inch play in all directions,
got new unit from dealer for £135 with allegance discount.the cheapest non gen was £80-99 so it was a no brainer really for the extra i get the dealer back up if it fails in its warranty.
only took an hour to fit on the drive under patio umbrella beacause of course it had to p**s down only while it was being done, the best trick i found was a small metal wedge to drive in between the wheel bearing and the surface it sits against gradually moving it round the edge, seperated it a dream,
Cheers

Damn !!!!!!
From my previous post "clunk clunk clunk" I thought I'd sorted it, however it appears I havn't
Put it into low range today to do some manouvering with fully loaded trailer and I find I get the clunk clunk when driving,
Have any of you guys had this and what was it, is it terminal for the transfer box or could it be drive shaft and that it's more noticeable in low range
Appreciate any info
Cheers
