Insurance companies - recommendations |
|
It's that time of year again and having had an 85% price hike from NFU, I'm wondering what companies others use with similar circumstances to mine:
1. Live in a big city (Liverpool)
2. Had one fault and one no fault claim in the last few years
3. Modified vehicle - snorkel and rear wheel carrier
4. Off roading (not just green laning)
5. Don't commute (I work from home)
6. Average around 12,000 miles pa
7. Aged 50+
Most 'normal' car insurance companies don't want to know about off-road or modification of any sort.
I've got quotes from LR insurance (BTW - their web site is not up to date on what they offer - misfuelling for example is no longer covered), Adrian Flux and a broker Peter Best.
I've used LR before - they're expensive but I have a degree of trust in them
Adrian Flux are a third cheaper - but I keep reading bad things about them on various forums
Peter Best are cheaper again but I've never heard of them before - I found them in this months LRO
Any others I should consider or comments on those I've already had quotes from?
Many thanks I see no ships........

I'm with flux, and have been a fair few times now on different vehicles - 4x4's and modified cars. Never had any trouble, but then I've never had to claim. They cover off roading at pay and play days providing it is not timed or competitive sports.
