Headrest DVD Xtrons HD905
saw an example of this in Wiggs' car recently- looks great. He has black interior- anyone tried this in "beige"- I was wondering what colour match was like- I have the almond interior
Price is great value- just don't want it to look naff if colours way off!

I had them fitted to mine, Almond interior, the colour match wasn't far off, not an exact match but not a million miles off,
If you look in my gallery the first picture shows a decent realistic colourIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

They were included in the deal, i think i paid around the £175 mark inc postage, remotes, keypads and games, however there are some a little cheaper but im not sure on the quality... Mine were great, it was the car that let me downIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

I have fitted a pair of these this week, much the same as many versions on eblag. The pic quality is fine for what they cost and they offer a lot of functions. My one worry is how good they would be for the front passenger in the event of a crash. They seem quite wobbly and are nothing like as firm as the OEM's. They also don't come as far forward... Overall pleased but wish they were a bit more solid.

I cut an extra notch the top of the poles ... That made them latch in a bit better and not wobble aboutG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I'll give that a try!
Problem with mine seems more the Headrest fixing to the poles. Had it apart (as you do) and it's the plastic ratchet bit that seems flimsy part. I suppose it can't be rigid due to the fact that the distance between the poles needs to be adjustable. Might have to have a fiddle...Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

Been out for our first run with the new headrests today, and whilst the bambino's were wonderfully quiet, I found the headrests a long way back (from the front seats). As a passenger it was not easy to rest against the headrest compared to the OEM's, I reccon they are a good 2" further back. It did not make it comfortable if you wanted a quick kip!
The Freelander one's I had in the D3 were very comfortable as a passenger, but the screen size was a bit small at 5" plus you needed a AV source. I'm now torn now between the bigger screens & intergrated DVD players versus my neck in a prang! How do others find their eblag variants as actual headrests? Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

I was looking for a rear seat entertainmant system and was amazed that you can now get dual headrest dvd screens for under £200. Having done some research, there appears to be little information available online regarding installation - the Xtrons manual was no help at all. Can anyone confirm whether the installation is straightforward for a non-techie ? It appears that you can buy adapters that fit into the power sockets in the rear of the centre console - are these more straightforward than using internal wiring ?
Regarding xtc's comment, once the headrests are installed, can they be easily switched with the OEM ones for specific journeys ?

Where have people picked up a power supply from? I have powered seats- can it be taken from there or is it better to look for a spare fused supply from fusebox?

i took power from behind the 2nd row ciggy lighter ...just made a piggy back lead so i dont have to cut any wiresG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

There not hard ..remove the old headrests ...feed cables down headrest posts . Pull back of seat leather / cloth out of its clip and put your hand up the back of the seat to reach the cables .
Push new headrests down and into place .
You just need to power the sceens ...this can be done from the amp / electric seats or back of ciggy lighter .
They dont go as far forward as the original headrests ....but this has never bothered me as i had them in my other discos aswell ( 7 " in the D3 )...so used to them .
these are 9" ones ...comes with remotes , wireless headphones , games pad , games . They also have a fm modulator in them so you can have the sound through the car radio .
Great for the money ....and were used all the way to Bulgaria and back recently
