I can't believe they don't fit Xenon's as standard on the Landmark!

Moving from a D3 HSE, I was worried about the lack of Xenon's on the Landmark. As it happens, I don't notice the difference in performance as the projector halogens on mine seem quite good? I've even started to like the way the signature LED's are blue'er than the dipped lights... looks different.

I was going to invest in replacement D4 xenon units, but think I'll save the money for something else?

The obvious question here is: Can the Landmark Halogens with working LED's be purchased separately for retro-fitting to D4's not in the HSE range and/or can they be ordered as an optional extra?

The Xenon's I had on my Merc were much better than those on the old HSE. The Disco used a sort of shutter arrangement (like an eye lid) which results in a very hard cut-off to the top of the light when driving on dipped headlights. On full beam they're great, but on dipped (which is most of the time, say on fast unlit motorways) I found the light pattern irritating as the throw wasn't quite far enough. You can adjust them up a bit but this just irritates others.
Seriously, IMHO the Landmark projector halogens work better!

crews control wrote: Landmark projector halogens work better! Are these the same as the halogens in all the non xenon D4s? Or does the Landmark have better halogens (aside from the LEDs) than the other models? I presume not, but should be grateful if someone would confirm! D4 XS MY12 Galway

Hi. You could fit a 35 or even 55w ultimate kit to convert the halogen projectors to xenon - and you would certainly see 8) a big difference. If you get the xenons enable in the ccf then you could go for the 35w slim ballast kit which fits inside the headlamp units. the other 2 kits would require you to fit the ballasts under the headlamp like in the OEm set up.
