Hey guys planning to order my 2012MY Marmaris Teal, LR4 next week so was checking every possible options available and saw Paddle Shift so was just wondering if this was worth getting, is paddle shift for high speed driving and is it also used for engine braking.
Do let me know what u guys feel cheers.

It's not an option on the 2012MY, it's standard across the range. It replaces the lever on the centre console:

It's standard in 2012MY but it's only for European model, I belong to Asia and the Asian model of 2012MY is with the stick lever and it does not replace with rotary for us so I need yr help if it's worth adding paddle shift.

Sorry didn't see your location. Do you get the 8 speed box even if you don't get paddles?D4 HSE, Active Rear Diff, surround cameras, adaptive xenons, heated steering wheel, TPMS, remote park heating, centre console cooler box

I don't think we have 8 speed I think it's the same old 6 speed stick lever and I don't know if the paddle shift could be added to it and if I do add can u tell me if this is worth extra money.

I fitted a functionally equivalent paddle shift facility to my D4 because I was constantly using the stick to change up earlier. I really like the way I can now easily use the engine's torque rather than higher revs regardless of whether I want fast or gentle acceleration, yet not have to reach for and move the lever and thus retain 2 hands at the wheel.Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs
