You can buy an A-Frame on eBay for about this price. Then have a permanent solution to your problem! not if you want to be pulled by plod at the roadside and have the vehicle being towed recovered and then impounded at your expense along with points on yer licence and an appearance in court to explain why you were using an UNBRAKED RECOVERY A FRAME for normal towing situation when it can ONLY be used to remove a disabled vehicle to a position of safety
Construction & Use Regulations 1986.....anything over 750kg has to be braked and the A-frame itself constitutes a "trailer combination" when attached to another vehicle.
BTW would also be running with no insurance due to the illegality of the combination

Agree with character but how do people with motor homes towing a car on an a-frame get round this?

Next time yer pass one, have a look, you'll see a cable running from the towing vehicle along the A frame and often in to the grill of the car being towed to the braking system of the towed vehicle. In effect when the motorhome brakes so does the vehicle being towed
