Try your local land rover owners club. SLROC do driving days several times a year with specific areas marked off for kids. I also believe they can drive in Tyros from 14 Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Nearer to home is the Bures pit - haven't been there for a while but I understand they are fairly relaxed as long as you are not being a complete prat. Plenty of flat bits in the middle by the lake.

My old D1 up there after I sold it!

This goes on at Bluewater shopping Centre near the Dartford tunnel, may have spread by now, I saw the advert there some time ago

At least it will give them an idea and chance (at someone else's risk) before being let loose on the D3

We took part in our first TYRO with the Red Rose LRC and it was brilliant. I was told they can drive at 13 in a TYRO but older for the more serious trials.
My lad is 12 so he has to wait but there were some amazing young drivers there yesterday, 2 of whom beat me!
I took my D3 and my 90 and the D3 was incredible once again! If you aren't living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space!!

Graham - You're in Essex aren't you?
This might be a good place to start if its just getting used to driving (Not off road). Probably the cheapest option and close to home?
