When will STOP-START appear on D4? |
|
Currently still enjoying my D3 HSE but am very interested in when/if LR plans to introduce STOP-START technology to D4 range. Nat MY95 D1 V8 ES Polar White

If I want the car to stop I can turn the key or press the start/stop button...
what happens to the state of the battery if im in start/stop traffic with aircon/heater, heated windows, radio etc.
and if i need to move quickly then I cant...
re the keyless entry - i keep forgetting to take them out of the car when i get out.... much easier when then are danging infront of you.
some things should just be left alone Duncan

Gotta say keyless entry is a God send for some of us!
When I'm wheeling up to the car, both hands are in use. With out keyless entry, I have to then fish out the key. unlock the car, get into the car, put my chair into the car then find somewhere to put the key away again. MUCH easier to keep the key in my bag and then I know where it is all the time!
Not trying to start a fight - just saying that some features are more useful to some of us than others. To want a feaature deleted because we don't like it is a little short sighted maybe? Just MHO of course! I mean, what hell are cripples like me doing with a car like a D4 anyway? Must have a nice little blue invalid carriage around here somewhere!
Just a thought, if you keep forgetting the key, have you considered a neck lanyard for it ?

I dont wear Jewellry
I would prefer if they were options or maybe if you could disable the STOP-START when you dont want it.
the windscreen washers drive me mad in the winter also - why do LR and other manufacturers think that I want the windscreen wipers to wipe when I press the windscreen washer button. sometime, especially when it super cold outside, I dont want the wipers to wipe if the screen washer is frozen before it hits the windscreen.. On our audi, the stop start is cancelled if:
The battery is not at a voltage to support it
The cabin is not at the temperature required on the climate control panel
The engine is not up to a certain temperature
You press the stop-start on/off button
I thought it was too, but when you actually use it the engine is started well before you have got the handbrake off (it only comes on with vehicle in neutral and handbrake applied, at the lights for example) and you don't hold people up waiting for it to restart.

It's on my automatic Audi - and it's a joke. The car has stalled on a number of occasions when restarting on a hill.
You can turn it off - but you have to do this every time you get in.
