I have just come back from the dealers. They have obtained some Aussie spec rear mudflaps for me.. They appear not to fit onto the 2012MY D4. Has anyone actually got them fitted? I know Domlandy 1 has them but they appear to be on a D3. i.e. black wheel arches. On comparing photos on the forum with the car outside it seems that the trailing end of the wheelarch is tapered on earlier models. On the D4 it is horizontal. Any suggestions? Have LR made Aussie spec for the D4? Perhaps Series flaps are the best answer?

Just been to dealers again and checked on another D4. Definitely a no go situation. Apparently depends on the model XS HSE etc and the format of the rear bumper. Will be pleased to read your comments when tried on your Dad's car.

Domlandy 1 can you post a pic of your rear mud flaps. Looking to see the difference to the series flaps. Also do you have a part number and pricing? Do the come with fixings from Landrover.

Regards

Hi THUB,
The older D3 (with black arch)mud flaps are different on the rear, but the newer D3(with color code arch) the mudflaps on rear are the same,

However they are, useless (not wide or low enough) and the stiff plastic will break sooner than later.
Use the Series or there are lots of after market rubber ones that will fit

Cheers Ken

Domlandy, Did you get the flaps to fit on your Dad's D4? Just curious really because I am convinced they do not. Other posts seem to say the same thing.

Just for clarification, I can confirm that D3 OEM mudflaps (UK Version) will fit MY07, MY10 (added MY11) and MY12. I've transferred the same set from each of these models as I've upgraded. All the holes in the body trim are in the same place and the profile on the rears matches exactly. Mine's an XS. There was an earlier remark about the HSE rear bumper having a different profile. I can't confirm that but I would guess that it's unlikely in terms of LR tooling on the production line.

Fitted my Series 3 rears and OEM D4 fronts this morning.

A very big thanks to TLO for speedy service Thumbs Up and MrH for the really helpful template to ensure the right cut out of the S3 flaps can be made - even prints out the right size on an A4 sheet - and the tips on where to attach the flaps on the arch liner Thumbs Up

Took my time on the first one but the second was realy quick - once I was happy with positioning to ensure they were level.

Great forum for this sort of thing.

Even fixed the RLD wheel protector in the last few days (following recent threads on wheel thefts) and went to see Andy at AJS for new boots so now the cars all ready for winter Whistle

I am still churning around looking at mudflaps. The Aussie ones do not fit. I have just come back from dealers with a set of "Series" and set of Defender mudflaps. The Series ones look rather on the large size even allowing for the piece to be cut out for the exhaust. The Defender ones are about the same width but somewhat shorter in the vertical planeand are also less flexible than the Series ones. I rather like the look of them, albeit all is by holding in situ and looking. Has anyone fitted Defender or even any after market mudflaps? SWMBO is getting a bit cheesed of with mudflaps in all conversation.
