Deflating lumbar support. |
|
Hi all,
I have a deflating lumbar support. It pumps up no problem and holds the air for about 30 minutes.
Has anyone had this before, and how would I get access to the internals of the seat?
Thank you.
Craig. Craig.

Hello All,
I have managed to located the part number for the Lumbar support. But has anyone replaced any of the seat structure? Do you need to unstitch the leather? or does it remove from the top? I have the TVs in the head rest and I'm sure you'd be able to access inside the seat back. But I can't think how.
would this be in the workshop manual?
Thank you Craig.

I can't help with the D4 specifically, but seat back covers are typically secured from underneath with hard edges in the material stretched over reciprocal parts on the seat frame. I did the drivers seat of a D1 years ago to replace the foam but I'm not sure I'd tackle the much more complicated seat in a D4, which contains much more wiring and, I think, air bags(?). I'd be looking for an upholsterer and pay somebody who knows what they're doing. Darren

Thank you Darren.
I think a professional may need to contacted. Like you say a lot of extra equipment is in the chair.
I will have a Quick Look at the bottom to see if I can find a connecting flap. Craig.
