FBH timer users - quick question

Does your glowplug light still come on if you've been running your FBH prior to starting your car?

Thanks DG, do you get any sign of hesitation to start at all? Mine is a bit lumpy for a few seconds if the FBH has been on for 30 minutes but it's fine if it's started from cold with the plugs on.

James, I don't use a timer just a BAS Controller, but as the coolant temperature tricks out the glowplugs a start can be rather lumpy. With the coolant already heated the rise in core engine temp does not take long to overcome the 'lumpyness' but it is a small downside to using the FBH. Setting mine for a 45 min burn seems to help but it is not perfect.

Still find that my FBH does not light each and every time and is cold at least once a week; not worked out why yet.

Thanks for the replies - I've had all my plugs replaced (at great expense!!) in the last week so I know they are all working. I might adjust my timer up to 45 minutes or maybe longer as I have noticed that the coolant doesn't get up to running temperature in the 30 minutes it runs for.

It's not a major issue as the lumpiness stops within a few seconds, just interested to see what other peoples experiences are.

Thumbs Up
