My old bus is nearly 7 years old. I've owned her from new and so know all her little ways.
She is running so well and does everything I need that i see no point in upgrading her, however, I was wondering if it was worth getting a Faultmate just to keep an eye on things.
So the question is why should I get one and what can I do with it? Are there any upgrades that it will do that are worth doing?

Do you have satnav, do you have phone? If no to the above, then just get the FCR. The other updates are three flash indicators, clock on the dash and a couple of other bits.
The difference in price between FCR and full MSV2 won't be worth it for you IMHO as you coiuld pay someone to do those updates and still come in at under the MSV2 cost.

Thanks Bodsy. My bus is a S manual.
Not interested in those upgrades so FCR is probably the route but from a layman's understanding, what will it do for me?

it will read your faults and allow you to reset them. i.e. unlock the FBH if it errors too many times. Read Faults if youi have EGR issues etc.
Saves you having to take it to a dealer. Bodsys Brake Bible

I have used mine to find faults on my car three times. I have used it far more on other peoples cars.
If I only had the single user version, would I have found it useful? Yes, I would. Would I have saved money? Based on three faults so far, probably break even for the single user licence. BUT the big thing is that I can read/reset them at my convenience, not having to go to the dealers.
Was also very useful on the pyreneees trip we had, where I could reset/update anyones vehicle in the group.
nice to know I have it TBH.
The one that is being sold on here for £220 will save you about £30ish, so an ideal opportunity Bodsys Brake Bible

I have an MSV2 on single license with a Panasonic Toughbook to run it, used rarely and like Bodsy said once you've done a few enhancements thats about it!!
I do use mine to check/clear faults but TBH the FCR will do that!
The only others things i find my MSV2 useful for are "Tight Tolerance" mode for setting cars geometry up,and being able to reset the "adaptive gearbox",apart from that it doesn't get much use,but hey i wouldn't be without it, one day it'll safe my sorry -i hope

FCR is worth having - saved me the purchase price in resetting errant ABS fault light, and diagnosing parking sensor and HVAC faults. Also useful when diagnosing suspension compresor and EGR problem. I also have 7 year old S -(70K) - good for another 7 years unlike previous D1 and D2. 32K on front tyres,38K on rear.
