If you want an insight into market values just pay the few quid as requested on the Glass's website. For a quick sale knock a few grand off. Autotrader works pretty well, ebay less so for higher valued goods.
No point asking proud owners whats it worth, they (we) wear rosy tinted spectacles when it comes to valuations. No harm trying of course, one can get lucky.

Try here - Vauxhall site has a [limited] functionality version of Glass's website.
Do not take it as gospel, however; I am trying to Part Ex my 06 Plate Golf GT TDI at the moment on a new Disco 3 - book price (trade) is £15k - am being offered £14k. Ultimately, book prices are all well and good but anything, car or otherwise, is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
