Ian,
I think there is a thread on this on the forum somewhere but in brief...
Straps are easier to clean
take up much less room in storage when rolled
are easier to spot damage on
and in particular with the "kinetic"straps they have an overstretch safety thread that appears when the strap is no longer up to the job.
Their cost is comparable as well.

FYI those that are having both ropes I have requested different colour wear sleeves so you can distinguish which rope is which should you store them together

Is anyone from the usual South East England member pub meet group, collecting theirs and would they mind collecting mine, I will then arrange to collect at a meeting or at some other location that is convenient - I live in mid-Sussex. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
