Brake pad replacement error message

My Disco 4 has just hit 52000km and the "brake pads worn" warning has come up on my dash. The dealer did warn me that my rear pads were ready for replacement.
I bought some original brake pads (which ferodo makes for landrover) and changed them. We also relocated the brake pad wear sensor back in it's perch and the rear right brake pad.
The warning still comes up on the dash.
Is there an easy way to clear it or do I have to get the dealer to clear it.

The warning light is cleared automatically once the worn-through sensor(s) are replaced, provided of course there's not a wiring fault, it simply responds to continuity in the circuit.

Have you checked both sensors? (front as well as rear?)

When you removed the sensor, if it's worn through it will need replacing. (one of them must have worn through , or a wiring fault for yoiu to get the message)

Damn I wish the guy in the spare parts told me that.... I will have to go buy a sensor. I wonder what they are worth in Australia????

The front brake pads still appear to have a bit of meat on them.

Check to make sure the cable for the warning sensors has not been rubbing on something because if it has this will pop the warning light on as well seen a few cables lately that have been badly routed and rubbed through.

Flack Thumbs Up
