The service advisor enlisted the help of the Group Service Manager, General Manager and even the Dealer Principal got involved on my behalf (all pretty willing to help considering the amount of these warranties they sell). All to no avail, was speaking to another D3 owner at a meeting yesterday who had the same issue. He claimed to know a reporter from Today Tonight, and got him to contact them (alledgedly) and surprise, surprise all paid for. If it is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease I might have to find a way to be even squeakier!!!!

My Dealer said that the Insurance consultant that takes the call first , stays with it .
If you get a stroppy git , they won't transfer you to another colleague .
I'd be prepared to use the Ombudman , and so should all of us . You can get a pro rata refund
on the cancelled policy FYI.

Doesn't help the OP, I know, but I have had three claims with Allianz and they have paid for them all. No questions asked. This has given me the confidence to take up an Allianz aftermarket warranty when I get my D4 in July/August.
