I removed the number plate plinth and placed it upside down then the rectangular 6inch combo lights fit in neatly. If I can find ou how to put pictures up I would. Mike has pictures. I live in Orpington.

need MORE Brightness......

I was wanting to mount ON the bumper rather than in the bumper. In the bumper will not be possible with the winch.

I still cant work out how they compare to 4 x LF140s, all the specs seem to be in a different measurement.

different specs

Hi
What specs are you actually looking for as all you have to do is put the details into google and it will convert them for you
If you want to know if these lights are brighter than halogen then YES they are if you are wondering are they brighter than HID then the answer is YES they make HID look like halogens.
You would have to be very pernickity if you didnt like these lights, I havnt had anyone give me negative feedback on these lights yet, but i suppose I might be tempting fate here
cheers

Hi Mike,

the 4 x LF140s light up the road about 750m-1000m ahead of the car - great on long runs down the french and Spanish motorways Thumbs Up .

I am taking the LFs off the D3 and either put them on the D4 or buy new LEDS.

I need to know the answer to a simple Q. Will 4 x D2s produce as much light for the same distance as the LFs ?.

the LFs can also be adjusted from spot to flood pattrn by rotating the lenses.

I just want more light than the LFs but without going to larger diameter lights, or cooker wiring !!!

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Hi Duncan
Ok it's a bad picture. The box says 369 mitres. That's not bad for a small light The ones I have are 6inch combo spot/flood I got these so they would fit neatly and not a bolt on the bumper as on the bumper they sit out to far and look yuk!!!!!!!!!! There are different types of lights to go for if you look on there web page. I am going to get a 36inch light bar and fit it to my roof rail when I go to Lapland over next christmas Sounds like you should look at just the spot light. Hope this helps. I am pleased with these as have been to Scotland and back over night and the light is awesome Thumbs Up :

i can also recommend LED auxlights ! Small size, impressive lightoutput, low powerconsume, long lasting.

cons: price

45w = 3400lumen.

Ok, i'm going to get some DuallyD2's x 4.

would prefer to mount on the bumper though to get the light higher over the winch and number plate.

when you say they look Yuk.. i dont suppose you have any pics do you ?

would they mount better under an A-Bar ?, like the LFs I currently have

Mike, I'll order some off you but not for a month or two. D4 doesnt arrive until late June and have a holiday to pay for before then.

Thanks for the input guys!

I went with the Hella Luminator Compact Xenons, they seem to get good reviews.

I have also ordered the OEM auxiliary lights mounting kit from LR, but was told that the OEM switch could only be delivered as part of the complete OEM light kit, which is a bit over the top when I only need the switch.

Do any of you know if there is a partnr for the swich alone?

D2 S led

Hi Disco Dunc

Ive just seen your post I dont think the D2s ( just under 300 metres) would match the throw of the LFs if your saying 750 1000 metres you would need a more powerfull equivelent like a larger SR30 (942 metres)/40(1087.7 metres ) lightbar to get the same throw of light, but the LFs wont produce the nice crisp white light that the LEDs will.
Even if you add four they will only illuminate to the above distance however you could use combo units which have spot and flood incorporated in the same unit and it would give you a better throw of light but still not to the distance of the LFs on a spot beam.
cheers
Mike
