I Have to decide what to wear Pirelli or General |
|
Hello All
I killed my original tires an have to replace ASAP, I drive off-road on Weekends mainly on gravel and rocks
I have only 2 options
General Grabber AT2 - 255/55-19
Pirelli Scorpion ATR - 255/55-19
No snow or ice in my area
THANKS

ATRs
AT2s are very vulnerable to sidewall damage, ATRs a lot less so.

i was told the AT2's are not available any more due to the new noise laws for tyres
can still get ATs - perhaps AJS can confirm ?
EDIT - must read slowly - TelAviv dont have our stupid tyre laws..... one assumes !! Duncan

the AT2's are more agressive than the ATRs and more suited to more serious offroad. drop AJS4X4 a PM. he is a site sponsor and is the Guru on tyres Duncan

Iirc, the above was proved my forum members in Morroco, but it's well documented on the web.
This is a useful comparison:

ATR's win the test, but they're not the best on sand, Yokohama and Mickey T's score best on sand.

I have been out with others on atr s and mtr s when they have had punctures and side walls and my at 2 s have been ok ..... i think there is a portion of luck involved with the rep for side wall damage on the at 2 s imho Don’t worry it is supposed to sound like that...honest

I have forgotten that doing a lot of noise between 80-90 km/h when you have driven more than 10.000 kms aprox....
