Adaptor D4 Clarke CTJ3000QL

I removed the short 10 mm bolt from the head. I ran two nuts onto a 10 mm coach bolt, screwed it into the head, tightened the two nuts and cut the bolt head end off giving a 'peg' like the scissor jack. It works fine.
My gallery has photos.

When I click on 'gallery' just above the 'blub' I see three photos. As a newbie I may not have put the pix in the right place?

Good idea ..... but?

Although you've created a spigot, where does the chassis rail sit?
It might just be the pics, but it looks as if it would rest on the nut.
Even if it's on the plate, there appear to be castellation edges that may mark the chassis.
Not being harsh, but maybe I'm just comparing with the adaptor I have with a smooth tapered spigot and rubberised cushion - protecting the chassis rail and locating hole.

Good thinking though Thumbs Up

Another way you couls do it, is to measure the hole in the chassis, diameter and if you know anyone in an engineering shop, they could turn down a piece of round bar, center drill it and tap it internally. You then have a screwed section of bar, that will fit snugly into the chassis of the Disco. Thumbs Up

Grateful for all comments. As new (awful) photo shows, the vehicle rests on the top of the spigot exactly as it does with my LR original (with car) scissor jack. That photo was taken with FNS wheel chocked and ROS wheel away up in the air.

I may grind off the first two or three threads.

Having thought more about it I realised at last that I had not been using a jacking point at all!

I have redone the adaptor using RonP's ideas: a smooth bolt and a 20 mm rubber cushion (both were from my 'could come in handy' heap). The spigot has a few mm of silver tape to maker it easier to see in poor light.

I may put up a photo later.
