sunroof jammed open
So yesterday it was 35 ° and I had parked in direct sunlight (the car is black) and I needed to get my gerber which i keep in the glove box..wow was the car hot so much that I could not hold the gerber from the glovebox as it was too hot..so Iknow I will crack open the never used sunroof to allow a wee bit of hot air out as I go about my business...then in the evening I go to close it and.....nothing..Doh..
checked fuse (no47 for those who care) ok.
held close switch for 30odd secs ..nothing.
rang dealer only reception at work (no LR assist here) but managed to get a phone number of a sevice staff member to ask if you can manualy wind it shut (the passat I have is so confident in its sunroof it even supplies the tool hidden in a pull down panel)..anyhoo engineer(ish) guy said not practical to do.
so I am now sitting in the dealer waiting for it to be sorted. (first thing guy did was turn off aircon then hold the close button for 30odd secs then declared it broken..after I had told him I did the same...genius)
A bit disappointing as I was invited to do the ribbon cutting on a new bank this morning, I had to send a minion instead..
I did have a peek at the motor and its made in China so it cursed it in Chinese..didn't help tho'It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.
