Electrical woes....suspension, brake lights, tailgate... |
|
Hi all,
It's all getting a bit much with our 56 plate D3
A month ago, the suspension decided it's going to run on normal height all the time. Stealer reckons a new compressor, but reading various threads on here, I'm not so sure, so was waiting before I fork out the £400 for one of those.
Two weeks ago, the boot opening catch stopped working (still works on the key fob).
A week ago, both rear brake lights stopped working - the centre light on the hatch still works.
On a normal vehicle, I'd discount any of these things being connected, but as the D3 seems to be "special" I thought I'd ask for a second opinion here - can there be a link, or has the D3 finally pushed my over the edge?
Thoughts appreciated

I don't think there is a link. Compressors do fail from time to time (although I have never had one go) Tailgate switch corrodes, and I bet you need both brake light bulbs changing. Not difficult, but use good quality bulbs.

Alas, it's not the bulbs - the two in there are fine, and the two new ones don't fire up either.
Hence why I wondered if something more sinister could be afoot!
Thanks for your reply though
