Towing

Has anyone had experience with towing big boats with a D4? My new boat is between 2.7 and 3.5 tonnes depending on how configured and was just wondering how the EPB is going to hold it all on the slope at the launch ramp. Guess I'll find out this weekend but was curious to see if anyone has any experience. I suppose if the car is rated to tow up to 3.5 tonnes it should hold on a reasonable slope. Very Happy

The owner of the boat dealership where I bought my boat, purchased a D4 HSE last year. Shortly after he bought it, he towed a 3.5ton boat up the east coast of NSW.
He couldn't wait to phone me when he returned to brag about how well it towed.
So yes, they will tow a heavy boat..........and well.

Cheers , Craig

Only ever towed small boats but I regularly tow horses in a trailer, total weight over three tons.
EPB works great on all inclines.

Well, towed boat about 300 kms now and it's truly a breeze. The D4 is a magic tow platform for big rigs especially with the EAS enabling height change on trailer hook up if needed. EPB has no problem holding on the launch ramp. Very Happy

Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!
