Hi,
I have a new D4 XS on the way.
What are the best seat covers to protect the seats on wet dirty days?
Would like machine washable and good tight fit.
Regards,
Nathan

I have an XS and the leather is pretty tough. Mud and grime wipes off fine!

I was after a set of seat covers for my MY12 D4 HSE and looked around at various makes, the Land Rover ones are VERY expensive so discounted them but then read on here (I think) that the Land ROver ones were made by a company called INKA who sell on ebay (LINK) However they don't sell the 2012 D4 front seat covers on there you have to ring up 01509 611 068 I rang them up and ordered a set (£39.95 Delivered for the front 2 seats) thinking at that price there were worth taking a punt on. They arrived in a plastic carrier bag exactly the same as the one the dealer had showed me and they fit like a glove Obviously I have only had them a couple of months but they seem to be hard wearing and I am pretty pleased with them
Edit one thing I am not sure about is if they are washable as I can't find the instruction sheet Cheers Ian

I have LR waterproof covers on the from seats - theya re a good tight fit but not very breathable and get hot on long journeys. the ones I have on the D3 bought in 2006 were waterproof cotton and a lot cooler and didnt make you sweat !!
whichever you get, make sure they have the slits down the side to allow the air bags to go off Duncan

I got some JLR covers for the front seats earlier this year from TLO and they are extremely good and certainly not sweaty.

We use the UK Covers ones on both our Disco and FL2. I don't find them sweaty and 100% waterproof.

Right managed to find the fitting instructions and it doesn't mention any washing instructions I know they can be washed down with a sponge as I have done that after a muddy event in Kielder. The ones I have do have the slits in for the air bags, if I remember correctly they asked whether I had DVD screens fitted and air bags (no to the screens yes to the bags) If you give them a call on 01509 611 068 I'm sure they will be able to tell you about the washing instructions. Cheers Ian

Have had genuine LR ones on all my Discoveries going back to the 300tdi I bought in 1994. These were in fact sold with the car last year, a bit tatty, but still serviceable. The original ones were made by Hatchbag, but as has been said, manufacturer has now been changed. They are well worth the expenditure, as they keep mud and dirt off the seats. Covers are fully machine washable, and dry in a few minutes hanging on the line. DON'T even be tempted to tumble dry them as it will affect the adhesives used. They are quick and easy to fit.
Not at all sweaty, but great on a filthy wet day in winter when you are constantly in and out of the car with wet waterproofs on. Mind you given the summer we have had they are great on a filthy wet day in July!
Have had the D4 covers for three years now, and still good as new.

As far as tight fit goes, these guys seem to have it down to a science and they offer fabric (which should be washable) or leatherette but I can't find a lot of info or reviews about them. I don't know if anyone on forum has dealt with them before. I have sent them an email regarding airbag compatibilty and 35/30/35 2nd row configuartion so I will see how that goes.

Reason being I am getting a D4 MY10 HSE with Almond/Nutmeg Premium leather and I prefer not to see how that stands up to the beating from the little ones as I don't think it will withstand abuse as well as the D3 XS leather which was hard as nails. 2010 D4 TDV6 HSE - Nara Bronze
2012 RRS SDV6 HSE Lux - Sumatra Black
2008 D3 TDV6 XS (Stornoway) - Gone & missed
