TSB for blue smoke
Hi guys,
Can you tell me if there is a TSB for the fix for the clouds of blue smoke on acceleration fault please?

Thanks Yes I read that long thread. Doesnt actually give the solution. Thought one might have been established since then. Oh well.
Dealer measured my car today and gave me it back not fixed. They will submit flow chart to LR to see if "a bespoke part needs to be made"

Just popped back to the forum
Hi chaps
Looks like peeps are still having blue smoke issues
It took me 8 months of hassle with my D4 with the dealer and LR Tech and I ain't the only one
I had all the mods Pipes n stuff thrown at it, the body off and new turbo
Tried different fuel added more motorway driving to my trips
And it was still the same
LR offered to replace the engine or replace the car with a similar aged one.
I chose neither and bought an Audi.
Shame because I really liked my D4
SORT IT OUT LR !!2007 RS4 Avant

Reg, the TSB could be LTB00487 as that's what mine's been in for with low MPG and blue smoke, but not having seen the details I can't say for certain. Hoping someone on here might have a copy

When we had our first D4 we had the same issue so might by dropping russel a PM 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone
2019 Anniversary Edition D5 - Going
2019 HSE D5 - coming!
Seen all these, but thanks. To be honest the blue smoke isn't a huge issue on mine. She's always had a little, now and again; but has done 53k miles without a hiccup, but recently my MPG dropped drastically and so they asked about everything and came up with this TSB number with regards to the blue smoke I'd mentioned. I'd just be interested to see for myself what the TSB says. If I hadn't used the collect and return service I probably would have got sight of it at the dealership because they know me well enough, they just won't email copies out, which on one hand I can understand.

This was mine last year - problem never got resolved over 6 months of trying - in out in out - pipes here there turbo on off body on off.
4 Landrover assist cal outs with other non starting issues (turned out to be sensors in the door handles)
Landrover were going to replace the vehicle and offer to replace the engine
Never got anything in the end because they were dragging their feet and avoiding the issues so sold the damn thing.
Not sure i'd have another after that.
Here's a pic of the smoke - think i may have a video somewhere.
Not on the forum as much but enjoyed all the banter on here.

Roylance - I remember the problems you had and this particular mod came out just after you got rid - perhaps it could have saved you from that Audi

TSB did not cure mine when I had that issue. LR worked very hard on it for 12 months but could not cure the fault, had injectors out, did comp tests and loads more tests, also loads of new parts before the new engine, new engine fitted smoke gone and fuel economy went up considerablyMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

LOL
The RS4 has woken up my love of fast cars again, i had it for 10 months trouble free.
Was just testing the water to see if i could manage with a smaller car, it was just a bit too small though although its a fantastic car one if the best ive ever driven before the beast arrived.
Just took delivery of a new M5 as its replacement so still running it in - its absolutly fantastic what an awsome machine
In normal driving its like a 7 series then press the ANGRY button and it will see off anything its just relentless.
If you see a guy in a blue M5 flashing its me !!2007 RS4 Avant

Enjoy the M5, lucky sole!! You might have to wash it every now & again if it's as reliable as my humble F11 520d. It's only been in for TLC twice, once for new idrive controller and once for first service on second birthday. I suspect you won't be seeing almost 60mpg on the dash though.

Mine had the mod kit and 2 new turbos almost the same **** Russell went through.
I think its just an issue with 2009-2010MY cars with the early engine TDV6 i had demos with the later engine SDV6 and they didnt smoke at all.
I just got fed up in the end especially when the blasted thing wouldnt start at the airport when 6 of us came back from holiday - now that was embarrassing - then it happpend again and again sorry but for a 50k car its unacceptable.
Good thing is they seem to have got it sorted now with SDV6
Anyway will look out for you guys wearing the Disco stickers and give you a thumbs up2007 RS4 Avant

Hi DSL how are you mate
No not quite 60mpg i must admit but i cant get the kids in a 911 or a GTR so i went for a car with more room and 2 personalities
16 round town with a heavy foot and 28 on a run - very similar to the RS4 but with 160bhp more and more weight so not bad for a 1900 kg car with 570bhp
Its a crazy bad ass car
Hope you lads with smoking issues get it sorted, would be interesting to see if any SDV6 D4's have the same issues.
Over and out chaps
Will call in now and again2007 RS4 Avant

60mpg (well 58.8 ) was plodding along at 60mph but I wasn't in a rush. Getting 46mpg overall.
