So how do you get through the tunnel, with a caravan if not on the shuttle? Sorry if this is a bit lame but owt past watford gap and it's not on any known maps up here Laughing

They are allowed on the Shuttle. Before you go on, they ask to check that the gas cylinders are turned off. We used it last year using Tesco vouchers, and it cost £0. Brilliant, and beats the awful rat race when you come back out of Dover. Mind you, the best crossings are from Hull!

Zeebrugge. OK I know it's in Belgium, but there was minimal distance to the south of France. It was about 30 miles more to the Med. And it's so much more relaxed. As the crossings are overnight, you can get off the ferry in the morning and have a full day's drive ahead. It is more expensive than Dover - Calais of course, but you don't have that awful drive to Dover and back. Book through the Caravan Club. Also, you can pre-book and pay for excellent meals, so no nasty surprises.

Can't wait to go again.
