Nope - been around for ages - he's got a Q7 now - don't thnk he's having much luck with that either Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
I'm sorry, but to buy a vehicle when you don't know what kit is available or not is inexcusable!
His dealership should have helped with that too.
Minor probs, I'm sure if he opted for a S or SE he would have been happy, as it is his sole intention was 5 seats rather than anything else!

I agree Gazzer; I spent a good three months deciding what options I needed/wanted and ensured that I'd be getting them. I also test drove most of the models, and most of the competition and wasn't afraid of digging into the internals (within reason!) in front of the sales staff to see what was lurking behind user removable panels etc.
Refering to that other site I also acknowledge that occasionaly someone using a machine gun will actually hit a valid target and I tried to find something that mattered that was accurately being beefed about on it. It's a struggle.
The only use I can see for that site is that it serves as a reminder of exactly how bad, twisted and misinformed a forum can be when it is starved of accurate information, and boy doesn't that just show how great this site is.
A big thanks to all those that make this site something special.
Sorry, that's heading towards 'a bit over the top' isn't it - must be 'cos my new car has finally been handed over to me and I'm loving it's silent, comfortable effortless fault free drive with everything fitted that I need and expected...

Transgenic tomato anyone?
Blimey, that bloke has an ego doesn't he? Not putting me off; I've seen enough VAG cars with problems to know he's simply bought the marketing line when he mumbles on about German precision.

Man I think he took less time researching the options of his Disco than I do when chosing a new handbag. What a whiner.
I do have to admit I'm not pleased LR is owned by Ford - me & Ford go back to 1988. I had vowed never to buy another one and haven't 8) I just hope LR never incorporates too much in the way of Ford.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
