My G4 has one fitted to mountings of front passenger seat - took the other half a couple of weeks to stop kicking it every time she got in and out

Would love to know too.
Mine came with it attached to the passenger seat frame but really bad location as SWMBO keeps kicking it.Ian

Thanks guys, the only other place I've found is one of the removable flaps in the boot where the jack is stored or the opposite one.Displaced Yorkshireman.

Took the bracket off
Put it in a 1.5l Neoprene water bottle thingy.
Put it in the big door bottle holder in the drivers side rear door.
Easy to get at fast, out of the way and a perfect fit

I took the same approach as Tiger - easy to get at, out of the way, never had a problem when off roading etc. Just make sure it's a snug fit.
The problem I see with hiding it out of the way in various cubby holes is that if you need it, you need it now not after you've fiddled around trying to dig it out.I see no ships........
If anyone does not want the bracket that goes onto the seat frame, I've been looking for one for ages.!A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I think I'll be using the mount on the dog guard as I use my door bottle holders.
May use the rear door bottle holders as no one sits there.Ian

The weight of an unsecured fire extinguisher will kill in the event of a roll-over accident.
Then again, lots of people leave lethally heavy objects unsecured and it is not like we leave the house with the intention of flipping the thing over, but if you can secure it then it may be worth doing so.
