Cant Fill My Discovery Diesel Up Quickly

Got my first Discovery today. TDV6 auto. Tried two different filling stations and pump kept stopping. Took ages each time just to get 20 quids worth in. Any suggestions ?

Never had that before! Tried the HGV pump? It's a tight fit but much quicker for me!

Tried again this morning and I have to hold fuel pump nozzle just inside fuel filler pipe and keep flow just enough to avoid foam of the diesel coming too far back up the pipe. Still seemed to take about 10 minutes to fill half a tank.

Anyone else have to do this ?

IIRC there is on some a mis-fuel flap, that once activated, usually in error putting the wrong fuel nozzle in restricts the opening and need to be reset, I'm sure someone will be along with more detail soon, or try searching for similar posts Thumbs Up

On closer inspection there does not seem to be any kind of flap black yellow
or otherwise. What I now suspect is there was a black flap that has broken
off and is stuck in the filler pipe beyond the bend towards the tank. Unless
I can get a camera or something down I wont be able to tell.

Anyone else had this happen ?

Mate of mine had his filler cap snap in half through his HWMBO over tightening on the ratchet, could this have happened and the bottom half dropped inside?
