Removable Tow Bar Storage

I had a tow bar fitted by my dealer, but it didn't come with the padding that I had is the side of my D3 to store the tow bar when not in use.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on said moulded foam? Is there a Land Rover part, or does anyone have an idea of where I can get something similar?

Hi,
You can get them from LR.
I also have a removable tow hook but no storage thingy and enquired with TLO but they are silly money for what they are and so decided to just wrapp it up in an old towel!
Thumbs Up

Yup, I just found some details.

LR020002 is the part number.

I've found it for about £65 online. What I can't work out is if that is the D3 or the D4 part? I saw some mention that the D4 version is a slightly better fit.

Funny enough I emailed TLO earlier.

Looks like he can sort me out.

Any fitting tips?

Comes with full instructions but in brief:

You need to take out the 2 luggage ring out ...no prob...just hex key or socket.

next you need to take out trim round rear seat base catch .. it just lifts out but be careful pretty fragile.

Next pull up side carpet trim from front to rear ... there is a stud half way down that on mine pulled out of trim and was stuck in car boot ... a real Censored to get out lift & twist at the same time is what is needed but its a Censored .

Holder can then be fitted by cutting a 'slot in soundproofing & pushing it through from cubby hole into boot . Take a bit of manoeuvring but can be done without removing full side trim as it suggests in instructions. 2 x t50 headed self tapping bolts hold it in so you will need a T50 socket or similar. I used a t50 socket an d they went in just fine.

then its just a case of putting trims back in place.. took me about an hour..good lock
Cheers
Ian

Sounds like I may need a beer for a job like that. Perhaps two! Smile

I managed to pick up used tow bar storage off a well know auction site and followed the instructions on here to fit the item. Worked like a dream and took no more than 20 minutes. Very Happy
Thanks!
