Charging the battery via 13s tow electrics |
|
I've had a good look on the site and around t'internet but have not seen any good guidance. Does anyone have any experience or advice on this subject? I'm currently looking at buying the 13s ring brand adaptor and using the instructions on the site to wire up a 7s feed socket. The main problem I see is that the 13s does not have a supply connector only permanent live at pin 9 And I'm not sure if this maps to the Number 4 pin on the 12s and works the same.

Thanks. Does the no 4 pin on the 12s map to pin 9 of the 13s?

Why are you bothering with an adaptor? Just wire up a 13 pin plug if you have a 13 pin socket. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Hence the question in my second post. Does the no 9 pin on the 13s allow charging? It says permanent live which means what exactly?

Not clear whether your car has the 13 pin electrics, or 7 pin N and S? ____

If its permanantly Live them my guess is that it runs straight back to the battery and should charge OK!

Well, there ARE some fuses involved! A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Of course, and cables too....all protected by this fuses
At the 13 pin plug you have permanent +12v feed to use with a charger, i modded my CTEK lead to do so and works like a charm. Look at my gallery, you have the 13 pin lay out to connect it.

Thanks all. Much appreciated and I will take on board the suggestion to simply use the 13 pin socket and wire up 9 and 3 as described.
