You should be right, Horto, mine loosen up after about 600km. In the first 10,000km while the pistons are bedding in, you will find oil consumption the highest. I had to top up approx 1.2 litre at the 9,000km mark. Other than that the Disco3 is relatively maintenance free.
Good luck!!! '06 Disco 3 TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue

Hi 4Q
Yup 07 build, 07 compliance - I ordered it after the boat was already on the way in early Jan - hence the relatively short 6 week wait.
Should be ready tomorrow - unfortunatly I'm at work in Brisbane so probably wont be able to pick it up till the weekend.....

Picked up the new Java Disco on Saturday and its going to take a long time to get the permagrin off my face.
What an awesome car, have done a hundred odd K's already, all urban and averaging 18L per 100ks (its a 4.0L V6 SE), really a small price to pay for the limo like ride and load carrying capability.
The 6mth old baby is loving his new forward facing car seat, was great to watch him taking in the view from the back of the Disco.
Funnily I had the carbon generation conversation with some friends over from England ( I do feel sorry for UK Disco owners as it seems the media have done a good brainwashing job on the UK public re 4X4's), I told them I'd plant a couple of trees, didnt want to get into how much carbon they'd contributed to the atmosphere by just flying 24hours over to Australia.
Loving being a Disco owner.

Congratulations on your new D3. I've had mine 6 weeks and just love it. The fuel consumption improves incredibly on the highway. Towing my CT up to Imbil and then back over Maleny I averaged 13.5 l/100KM.
Carbon.. I have bought a Carbon Credit through Terra Pass (terrapass.com) for around $100 per year and it totally offsets any carbon emissions. They give you some nice stickers for your car. Mine are on the back so the "friends of the dirt" can see them as I back over their oil belching Kombi Vans.
Cheers

Sorry about that Murat, all I can say is that your car is driving beautifully and looks great.
Just kidding....
I know theres a fair bit of frustration with the wait but the result is more than worth it, not too long now.

Commiserations Murat
I can say though that the wait is really worth it - I do find myself thinking 'why would anyone buy any other car?' regularly....

Don't give up Murat - the rewards for waiting what seems like an eternity are well worth it.
Between ordering mine and picking up from the dealer, I got very sick. On day of pickup I took an alternate driver (just in case) but when the keys were handed over, there was no way I was going to miss out on the pleasure of the drive back to Brisbane. I was in awe, this wasn't a test drive, this was the real thing. Something that I would have to live with for a long time. I was wrapt!! And didn't feel like handing over to the alternate driver for one moment.
Just be patient - you WILL be rewarded... LeighW

Hang in there Murat!
I couldn't get a straight answer out of my dealer when i was waiting. Eventually, they rang me and told me to come and get it. I was 700km away and told them that I couldn't get there for a week and the sales manager got angry at me!!
It's worth the hassle when you finally get hold of her! Have a nice day!

Ask for free stuff to compensate you for the delay, i.e mats, and the like. Has worked for some... Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

So today's the day - enjoy your new D3 Murat!!
As to the towbar, when I finally got around to checking towbar fitment, etc. I had some difficulty with the cast iron receiver end due to something that looked like welding splatter. But a cold chisel soon had that clear. However my car was wired by the dealer and they supplied an adaptor to plug into the LR female receiver. Maybe a question for your dealer.
Enjoy the experience and the PermaGrin that goes with driving a D3/LR3.
