Fuel Burning Heater (Cold Climate Pack) |
|
Guys, I keep seeing references to the Cold Climate pack and FBH but can find no references in the L/R blurb. If this standard on any models? If not, how do you order the FBH?

The FBH is standard on all UK TDV6s anyway. Some markets don't have it - warmer climates mostly, e.g. Australia I think.
The Cold Climate Pack is a different set of extras - such as a heated windscreen, heated washer jets, heated seats, and is standard on the HSE. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

On MY07 D3s, the LR site indicates that heated seats are optional on the SE, and not available at all on anything below. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

must have changed specs then, as both cold climate pack and bight pack (fog lights, door lights, etc) was standard on my 06 S.

The specs have been about quite a bit since the D3 was launched.

Brilliant - another toy that I didn't know would be on the new baby! I am stggered at how much stuff comes out of forums that isn't obvious from the official blurb. BTW, my SE ic coming with heated front seats as standard.
Thanks for the input.

Toys you can play with. The FBH you can't. It just either comes on or it doesn't depending on how cold it is. Back in the game!

I thought the whole idea of an FBH was to enable you to program when youe wanted it to come on - therefore a nice toastie welcoming car on a frosty morning. Is this something different?

That would be a nice thing wouldn't it?
Apparently, according to the more knowlegable on here (TFC etc.) LR decided not to install the full functionality of the FBH for pre-heat. Back in the game!

That might be what you thought the whole idea of a FBH was, but LR knew better
What you have is a thing that enables the engine to get up to working temperature more quickly when you start up on a cold morning, but not before you start up. There are some threads on ways to change this - at a considerable cost, I think
