Airbag leaking .... is it difficult to replace?

Hi,

My front offside suspension airbag is leaking! The question is, is it easy to fit another? I've found:

http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/spring-front-s...-5222.html

This looks like a whole assembly, airbag and shock - is that right? It's a fair bit cheaper than I was expecting. Are these difficult to fit? I've put new suspension on my defender before, I wanted to check there's nothing awkward or awful before trying this one? And guides are always useful! Very Happy

I've just bough an IID kit so I can safely deflate and re-calibrate etc. afterwards.

Thanks,

Daniel

Straight forward enough. 3 nuts at the top of the strut, one long bolt at the bottom. Once its all undone, the strut will hang down with the air pipe still attached. Unscrew this, and discard the olive. To refit, push the pipe into the new strut first, and refit bolt + nuts etc

To refill the airbag, let the car down (but not fully) and start the engine, and raise to off road height. Slowly lower the jack until the car lifts itself free Thumbs Up

Excellent, nothing untoward then! Is it a common-ish thing for them to fail? I don't suppose you have the torque settings?

Wouldn't say common, but have replaced a few. The bottom bolt goes FT, and the upper ones go tight. Think you would struggle to get a torque wrench into the top nuts anyway
