Audio/Nav screen blank!

Wife has phoned to report that the screen on our MY12 XS has gone blank. Sound seems OK but nothing on screen and Bluetooth not working either.

I'll phone dealer and get it booked in but has anyone else experienced this on a MY 12 car ?

I have had several times now my screen just going white. This usually happens at a short stop, fuel, comfort etc. If the stop is longer or overnight it comes back normal.
While the screen is white out the entertainment system still works.
I have it booked in Wednesday when I get home and hopefully it may be just a software update.

Well I bottled out of attempting the hard reset myself and the car is at the dealer as I type this. They should have done it yesterday while SWMBO waited for it beforee contuinuing her journey to work (having been told it was a five minute job). When she got there, all of a sudden it would take "at least an hour" ! Not a happy lady...

Anyway, they collected it from her place of work this morning and are going to drop it back off - fair enough.

Although, having said that, if she doesn't get it back with screen fixed by 2pm to allow her to get to a funeral for 3.30 this afternoon, I would not want to be that service manager (unless of course he arranges for her to be transported there).......

I wonder what they did to fix it ?

I had a couple of FBH problems last Winter (2011/2012) with message of type "battery/fuel low", but didn't do much about it because I wasn't using the car much and assumed the battery wasn't up to charge. Never had any blank nav screen problems though.
Anyway, at the first service last November because my VIN was in the right range the dealer applied Q210

"Following an incomplete Timed Climate event the HLDF Touch Screen does not illuminate
affecting a number of vehicles within the above mentioned VIN range.

In addition, the fuel fired heater overheat protection can cut in too early and lock out the
operation of the fuel fired heater. At extreme low temperature the fuel fired heater only warms
the engine, not the cabin. "

I used the FBH by remote earlier this week and all was OK, but yesterday tried using the FBH again and it failed, AND the flipping nav screen was blank !

It's booked in with the dealer 28th January so I will post an update then.

I had my screen looked at but could not replicate the defect.
Having had some time to think about it the conclusion is it may stem from my I-pod as we were on a long trip and the i-pod is used for the music.
When I get back from work next week we are having a few days away in the outback of NSW so I will see if it happens again and narrow it down.

The MY12 infotainment is a crap system which is why they have changed the modules in the MY13. It is very slow, especially the reversing camera and the reversing sensors which don't come on until the camera is up and running. To my mind not fit or purpose and potentally dangerous.

UPDATE - Failed FBH cycle and blank Nav screen.

Got the car back from dealer and it's fixed (for now). Even though service action Q210 had been applied two months ago there was a software update available for

"Front control/display inter... - files to be downloaded CH22-14C621-AD.vbf"

However, they said that if the problem persists there is a replacement part for the fuel burning heater - so watch this space.
