Hiding Italiano (or other forums) from New Posts?
Hi Martin,
In "Profile", we have the ability to "Hide Off Topic posts in the New Posts list" (on or off):
Was just wondering if you could add a control to filter out Italiano - and some of the other less interesting (for me) forums - from New Posts?
With no disrespect to our Italian friends on here, I'd rather not see any Italian posts in "New Posts" because I am not fluent in Italian. I'm sure there are other forums I would like to hide, too, but this would be a start.
Am guessing "Hide Italiano posts in the New Posts list" would have to be "On" to begin with in order to prevent it from not showing-up for our Italian friends. The rest of us would then have to enable it.
Is this just a different DB query or is there more to it than that?
Cheers,

Great idea...I fully support this!
Love the Italians, very friendly bunch and very helpful with suggestions when I needed it...but would be nice to filter selectively out of the recent posts list

And it might also be useful for our Italian friends to filter out the English posts from their "New Posts" list. 2021 BMW iX3 Premier Edition in Carbon Black ⚡️🔌

There's a version of this now in place in the profile editor, replacing the old toggle for hiding off topic posts only, you can now select whichever forums you want hidden from New Posts.

Martin, not sure if its just me but it appears to be randomly hiding sections now,and if I go back in, it randomly ticks a few more sections as hidden !

Now I see how you've implemented this (allowing a more granular selection of forums than just hiding Italiano) I wonder if an Add/Remove control would work better? One of those things where you have a list of stuff on the left and you have to add it to the list on the right. One of the boxes would be labeled, "Show" and the other one labeled, "Hide".
I don't know if such a control exists in PHP, though.
If we can't do that, maybe checkboxes next to each forum would work better? Can you put checkboxes inside a scrolling list box? Making multiple selections in a scrolling list box is a little awkward (but not impossible).
It's definitely an improvement (and it gives me what I originally asked for ), but making multiple selections in the scrolling list box could be better, IMO.

I've had the same thought this morning to improve usability, although looks like I might have a fundamental issue to sort first 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
