Not sure. I thought that the gross train weight or what ever then new name for it now is was the one that vosa could do you for if exceeded. I'm sure mal will be along to confirm but I would have thought it was close!!

yep, they do have bigger payloads, there's a 5th wheel navara locally with a double decker car trailer, so can take 2 cars at a time, and this is done commercially as it's plastered in sign writing

Think if you read the post further back the Navar has to go and have some changes, from memoryo springs and brakes come to mind but I may be wrong.

surprised the pickup can tow that

The Navara is re-plated with the extra towing capacity so all legal. the Navara pulls it pretty easily, it's 190bhp standard and I've got a DTE chip. I had a couple of issues last year in France at 40c pulling up the side of the Pyrenees but have fitted and extra auto transmission fluid cooler with fan to help this so should have no issues this year.
Pulling the fifth wheeler at any speed is much nicer than the Disco and twin axle as there is no snaking with the fifth wheel hitch design.

The Navara is modified the the fifth wheel company with air bags under the leaf springs and beefed up rear to support the hitch.
The caravan has air brakes and air suspension and will stop quicker than the truck when required.
The Navara is now rated at 6.5t and cruises at any speed without any issues.

There were newer regs coming in but mine is built in the UK so all legal where as the US imports have to have more changes and paperwork.
