you have to be carfull what you see on ebay as finished prices as somtimes they wont set a reserve but have 1 in mind and wont sell it to you ask me how i know as well as other reasons
but i agree they are getting cheaper a lot of car for the money especially as you could keep 1 going for a lot less than most of us Club original turbo
161k and counting
general AT's, oval timer, blanked egr's, silicone intercooler hose's

That HSE model would be a great car for someone if there are no more issues with it.

Depreciation is always a killer on these things. I bought mine a s a 10 year car. She'll be 8 in March. I was almost tempted to buy a new D4 but there wasn't enough value in the £42k cost of change I'll now wait for the D5.
There are lots of bargain out there and will continue to be whatever the weather.

I'm waiting for the D5 too. If it's 2015 then my D3 will be ten years old and 90k miles. I will probably keep it as it's already had a clutch, turbo, 2 wishbones & bearibgs, brake lines and suspension compressor. Hopefully it can do another five years from then at a max of 5k miles pa without costing too much????????????????

I missed a 'bargain' two weeks ago- it was a Trade in against a new D4...
It was an 55MY auto with 140k miles on the clock, Ok but not A1 condition...and had an issue with it 'hunting' for the gears... we were too slow in figuring out if we could afford to change over....it went for £5k! (I got more for my 1993 110CSW!). On the other hand i saw a 2004 D3 go for £10k at the Kinross auction... and it was NOT nice!
Is the issue is that Main Dealers cost a fortune for repairs... Indi's are much cheaper.. however a lot of 'old fashioned' DIY just cant be done these days.... Or is that cos I'm getting old!
A few weeks back I saw a smart looking (as in no dents, dings, crashes or bashes) Fiat Punto Sporting - 2007 sitting on top of a pile of cars at the scrapyard... the hazards were still flashing on it.... I asked why it was in... and it was because the owner had lost the 'Red key' and now needed a whole new ECU etc...... The total bill was going to exceed £3K... so he towed it to the scrap yard and got £100 for it! So I guess depreciation is not just a Land Rover thing!

Same for me. I bought mine at 2 years old and its just passed its 8th birthday.
Its paid off and is now earning its keep.
It has to last at least 2 more years.
Then it goes for whatever I can get for it knowing thast its been worked hard but looked after too. All things shipping, storage, transport. UK and worldwide.
